The 17th Defense Support Program satellite was launched on December 22, 1994, by a Titan IVa launch vehicle. This launch was supposed to go much earlier in the year, but due to technical difficulties, it was launched a few days before Christmas. As a result, a humorous patch was made to go along with the more official patch.
