The Multispectral Thermal Imager satellite (MTI) is being made by the Department of Energy (DOE) to test technology that will aid in the DOE's mission of nuclear nonproliferation monitoring. The MTI satellite was launch on March 12, 2000, on an Orbital Sciences Corporation Taurus launch vehicle using a Peacekeeper missile as it's first stage.
